JURNALELITE.COM, JAMBI,- The Governor of Jambi, Al Haris, has officially inaugurated the Global Digital Core (GDC) Data Center, a state-of-the-art facility aimed at strengthening digital infrastructure and accelerating regional connectivity across Sumatra at (22/11/2025). This milestone marks Jambi’s most significant step toward becoming a modern digital hub for Indonesia.
Located in Jambi City, GDC is designed to meet the rising demand for cloud services, content delivery, and interconnection facilities. The data center provides reliable colocation services, high-capacity network access, and a neutral Internet exchange platform known as the GDC Network Exchange (GDC-NX), or Jambi Access Exchange (JAX).
During the inauguration ceremony, Governor Al Haris emphasized the importance of digital infrastructure in supporting economic growth, public services, and technological readiness in the region.

GDC has already secured partnerships with several global content and infrastructure providers. EdgeNext has successfully deployed its CDN node inside the facility, and Google Global Cache (GGC) has been officially approved and is preparing for equipment delivery. These developments reflect GDC’s readiness to support world-class digital operations.
The data center is operated by Global Digital Core (GDC) as an independent entity, offering secure facilities, redundant power systems, environmental monitoring, and future expansion capacity. The platform aims to attract CDN operators, OTT providers, cloud services, and gaming networks by offering:
– Low-latency regional delivery to Jambi, Sumatra, and surrounding regions
– Direct local peering via GDC-NX (JAX)
– Reduced upstream bandwidth costs for ISPs and partners
– Scalable rack space and robust infrastructure
– Efficient regional traffic offload
M. Ansori, Director of GDC, expressed optimism about GDC’s role in enhancing digital access and attracting global partners.
